We can do hard things.
When things get exceptionally difficult to handle, I often fall back on quotes that I’ve saved or memorized for inspiration and hope.
I’ve been saving quotes for years — they’re scribbled in the inside of matchbooks, or highlighted in yellow, gems of light gathered in well-worn notebooks.
Sometimes they’re fortunes from cookies, often they’re arranged and rearranged on a bulletin board stretched on a canvas with beige linen fabric.
But they’re all there, alive with a beating heart, to inspire, guide, lead.
This particular quote, we can do hard things is what I’ve been thinking about during this past week of chaos in the Capital.
Over and over, I’ve repeated this mantra:
WE can do hard things.
We CAN do hard things.
We can DO hard things.
We can do HARD things.
I don’t ponder on how, I ponder on WILL. I ponder on MUST.
We WILL get through this.
We MUST get through this.
What’s a favorite quote you lean on during tough times?
Please share so we can all stay inspired.
“When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
“I am very cautious of people whose actions don’t match their words.”
